The systemic risks of technology giants and their regulation – “Too Big(Tech) To Fail?” – is the title of an essay by Roland Bódi, Péter Fáykiss and Ádám Nyikes in the March 2023 issue of Financial and Economic Review. In connection with the article, the Hungarian Economic Association and the Financial and Economic Review will organise a panel discussion – in hybrid form – on Wednesday 19 April 2023 at 10 am at the conference centre of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) at Krisztina körút 55, Budapest, and the event will be available live on the HEA YouTube channel.

The event will start with a welcome address by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB and Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, followed by a short introductory presentation on the essay by Roland Bódi, Senior Legal Adviser of the MNB. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Péter Fáykiss, Director of the MNB, Zoltán Ács, Head of MKB Fintechlab and Péter Fehér, Associate Professor, International Head of the Corvinus University of Budapest, Member of the Board of the IT Section of the HEA. The discussion will be moderated by András Tóth, Vice President of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), President of the Competition Council and Editor-in-Chief of the GVH’s scientific journal, Versenytükör.
