Our accession to the EU 20 years ago brought significant changes to the public finance budgeting system, public finance in general and the control of the use of public money. The Hungarian Economic Association’s Public Finance Section will organise a roundtable discussion on these changes and the experience of the last 20 years in the EU on Monday 25 March 2024 from 10.00 am on Webex and on the HEA’s YouTube channel.
The event is part of a year-long series of conferences in which HEA’s sections review the experiences and achievements of Hungary’s two decades of EU membership, field by field.
Participants in the discussion will be Péter Benő Banai, State Secretary for Public Finance at the Ministry of Finance and Vice President of the Public Finance Section of HEA; Balázs Dencső, Director General of the Directorate-General for Auditing European Aid and Árpád Kovács, Professor, former President of the State Audit Office and the Fiscal Council and Honorary Lifetime President of HEA. The discussion will be moderated by Richárd Adorján, Deputy State Secretary for the Budget at the Ministry of Finance and President of the Public Finance Section of HEA.
