{"id":11794,"date":"2024-04-16T15:46:39","date_gmt":"2024-04-16T13:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mkt.hu\/?p=11794"},"modified":"2024-04-16T16:02:16","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T14:02:16","slug":"mit-adott-nekunk-az-eu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mkt.hu\/en\/2024\/04\/16\/mit-adott-nekunk-az-eu\/","title":{"rendered":"What has the EU given us?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>What has the EU given us?<\/strong><\/em> This is the title of a roundtable discussion in four parallel sessions on the economic and social impact of Hungary&#8217;s 20 years of EU membership, organised by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) &#8211; in connection with the series of events evaluating the results and experiences of our two decades of EU membership &#8211; <strong>on Tuesday, 23 April 2024, from 10 a.m.<\/strong>\u00a0 at the MCC&#8217;s training centre in Tas Vezer Street (1113 Budapest, Tas Vezer Street 3-7).<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will take the form of a tour de table, where each participant &#8211; 11-13 people per panel &#8211; will present their thoughts in 3-5 minutes per question, and after the last speaker, each participant will reflect on what has been said.<\/p>\n<p>The participants of the panel discussions &#8211; including, for example, <strong>\u00c1rp\u00e1d Kov\u00e1cs<\/strong>, Honorary President of HEA, former President of the Fiscal Council and the State Audit Office of Hungary; <strong>Etele Bar\u00e1th<\/strong>, former Minister of European Affairs, President of the Development Policy Section of HEA; <strong>G\u00e1bor Kutasi<\/strong>, Habilitated Associate Professor, Member of the Board of the Public Finance Section of HEA; <strong>Gy\u00f6rgy Boda<\/strong>, Member of the Board of the Labour Section of HEA; <strong>Tam\u00e1s Halm<\/strong>, Editor-in-Chief of the Economic Review or <strong>Alfonso Dastis Quecedo<\/strong>, Ambassador of Spain to Hungary &#8211; seek answers to questions such as how EU membership has changed the lives of Hungarian companies and citizens; what are the most significant benefits and opportunities, costs and challenges of EU integration for Hungary; whether the story of Hungary&#8217;s 20-year membership of the EU lives up to original expectations and what were the unforeseen positive or negative consequences of this story.<\/p>\n<p><em>The detailed programme and registration form are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/feliratkozas.mcc.hu\/hu\/form\/mit-adott-nekunk-az-eu\"><strong>https:\/\/feliratkozas.mcc.hu\/hu\/form\/mit-adott-nekunk-az-eu<\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What has the EU given us?
