Corvinus University of Budapest and the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) signed a cooperation agreement on 15 October with the aim of strengthening professional and academic ties in the field of economics. The document was signed at the Main Building of Corvinus by Bruno van Pottelsberghe, Rector of Corvinus University, D\u00e1vid Baranyai, Head of Corporate and Institutional Relations at the university, and Gyula Pleschinger, President of the Hungarian Economic Association.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis cooperation adds another important element to Corvinus\u2019s extensive institutional network, reinforcing the dialogue between economists and the academic community. The more lively the exchange of ideas between partners, the better we can understand the challenges ahead and the richer our toolkit will be to address them\u2014whether as researchers, practitioners, or Corvinus students<\/em><\/a>,\u201d said Rector Bruno van Pottelsberghe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe partnership aims to serve as a bridge between academia, business, and economic policy. By promoting knowledge transfer and utilisation, it seeks to help make scientific work and research results more widely accessible and practically applicable<\/em>\u201d, said Gyula Pleschinger, President of the 131-year-old Hungarian Economic Association. He added: \u201cBeyond this, through HEA\u2019s professional events, economics students at Corvinus can gain practical, market-relevant knowledge and build essential networks for a successful career. HEA also commits to organising high-profile conferences and professional lectures at Corvinus, offering speaking opportunities to the university\u2019s lecturers and researchers, and working with Corvinus to relaunch and support a student organisation affiliated with HEA<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the agreement, the two parties will strengthen cooperation in areas such as disseminating research results, supporting innovation, presenting issues affecting the economy and labour market, and building stronger connections between the university, the business sector, and the professional community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both sides may provide speakers for each other\u2019s professional events, and HEA may also contribute lecturers to Corvinus courses. They may co-organise events on economic topics, while Corvinus can support the participation of its researchers, lecturers, and students in HEA programmes, as well as offer discounts for HEA staff members in the university\u2019s training courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership may also extend to the international level, as HEA\u2019s foreign network could help Corvinus build collaborations with economics universities abroad. In addition, the possibility of establishing an HEA scholarship at Corvinus has been raised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
