The event will be hosted by the city of Eger on 10\u201311 September 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference is the largest annual gathering of the Hungarian economics profession. The Hungarian Economic Association (HEA), the organizer of the event, expects to welcome at least 700 economists from all regions of Hungary as well as from beyond the country\u2019s borders. Across two plenary sessions and 16 parallel section sessions, approximately one hundred speakers are expected to share their insights with participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s Itinerant Congress of Economists will focus on the most important challenges facing the Hungarian economy and economic policymaking. Several sessions will address the risks and opportunities associated with the use of artificial intelligence. Other topics on the agenda will include the state of public finances and the national budget, European Union funding, innovation and competitiveness, and the increasingly turbulent global political and economic environment. As in previous years, the conference will also feature two flagship events: the roundtable discussion of banking leaders and the panel of macroeconomic analysts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/kozgazdasz-vandorgyules.blog.hu\/2026\/06\/15\/64_kozgazdasz-vandorgyules_program\">professional programme<\/a> of the conference will be continuously updated and expanded on the <a href=\"https:\/\/kozgazdasz-vandorgyules.blog.hu\/\">website<\/a> over the coming weeks. Registration is expected to open during the last week of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kozgazdasz-vandorgyules.blog.hu\/2026\/06\/15\/reszveteli_dijak_2026\">Participation fees<\/a> for the Congress have remained unchanged for the past three years. In addition, HEA members who have paid their annual membership dues are eligible for a registration discount that exceeds the amount of the annual membership fee itself.
