Registration for the 64th Itinerant Congress of Economists has entered the home stretch \u2013 interested participants have just one week left to register for the Hungarian economic profession\u2019s largest annual conference! The detailed on-site programme is now complete, and nearly 600 people have already registered, but accommodation is still available for the event. So don\u2019t delay your registration!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rich and exciting professional programme awaits participants on September 10\u201311 in Eger at the 64th Itinerant Congress of Economists. The conference\u2019s approximately 110 speakers will share their thoughts with the audience in 16 on-site and five pre-recorded sessions. Among the speakers will be Mih\u00e1ly Varga, Governor of the central bank, Andr\u00e1s K\u00e1rm\u00e1n, Minister for Finance, two state secretaries and four deputy state secretaries, two deputy governors of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the presidents of the Fiscal Council, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO), KAVOSZ and the Joint Venture Association, the CEOs of the Hungarian Government Debt Management Agency and five banks, two Olympic champions, two former European Commissioners, and renowned economists such as P\u00e9ter Halmai, G\u00e1bor Oblath, Zolt\u00e1n Pog\u00e1tsa, P\u00e9ter Oszk\u00f3, P\u00e9ter \u00c1kos Bod and Magdolna Csath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s Itinerant Congress of Economists will focus on the most important challenges<\/a> facing the Hungarian economy and economic policy-making. Several sessions will address the risks<\/a> and opportunities<\/a> associated with the use of artificial intelligence, with particular attention paid to the situation of public finances and the budget<\/a>, EU funds<\/a>, the labour market<\/a>, innovation<\/a> and competitiveness<\/a>, the banking system<\/a>, as well as the turbulent geopolitical and global economic environment<\/a>. In addition, two panels during the two-day conference will focus on the introduction of the euro in Hungary<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the conference\u2019s opening plenary session and selected sessions will once again be streamed live on the Hungarian Economic Association\u2019s YouTube channel<\/a> and on the conference website<\/a>. Recordings of the Congress\u2019s five pre-recorded sessions<\/a> will be made available on the website and YouTube on the morning of September 10, at the start of the conference. According to our plans, the remaining on-site sessions will be available to watch back on the conference website during the week following the Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
