Considering the risks resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic this year\u2019s conference will take place in the digital space via live video streaming on 24-25 September 2020. The presentations of the conference organised by the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) will be accessible at the dedicated conference website free of charge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The morning plenary sessions will be streamed on both days (Thursday and Friday), followed by two interactive live panels planned for both afternoons. The opening presentation of the conference will be delivered as usual by <strong>Gy\u00f6rgy Matolcsy<\/strong>, Governor of the central bank of Hungary. Friday\u2019s first speaker will be <strong>Mih\u00e1ly Varga<\/strong>, Minister of Finance. The confirmed plenary speakers include <strong>L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Domokos<\/strong>, President of the State Audit Office,<strong> Tam\u00e1s Freund<\/strong>, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and <strong>L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Parragh<\/strong>, President of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday afternoon, 24 September the bank executives\u2019 roundtable moderated by <strong>Barnab\u00e1s Vir\u00e1g<\/strong>, Deputy Governor of the MNB involving the <strong>senior executives of seven financial institutions<\/strong> will discuss the money and capital market situation, followed by a panel of analysts and forecasters. On Friday afternoon competitiveness and innovation will be discussed by the invited experts, followed by a session on current EU events. The participants of the live interactive panels will include, among others <strong>Attila Steiner<\/strong>, Minister of State for European Union Affairs; <strong>Enik\u0151 Gy\u0151ri<\/strong>, Member of the European Parliament; <strong>\u00c9va Pal\u00f3cz<\/strong>, CEO of KOPINT-T\u00e1rki Zrt., Vice President of the HEA; <strong>P\u00e9ter Bal\u00e1zs<\/strong>, University Professor, former Member of the European Commission, Vice President of the HEA; <strong>Andr\u00e1s Balatoni<\/strong>, Director of Economic Forecast and Analysis, MNB; <strong>Istv\u00e1n Mad\u00e1r<\/strong>, Senior Analyst of Portfolio.hu, Board Member of the HEA; and <strong>Gergely B\u00f6sz\u00f6rm\u00e9nyi-Nagy<\/strong>, Executive Director of Design Terminal, founder of Brain Bar. The thematic panels will be accessible via a mobile app allowing the members of the audience to join in. The participants of the roundtable sessions will include <strong>\u00a0P\u00e9ter Ben\u0151 Banai<\/strong>, Minister of State for Public Finances, Vice President of the Public Finance Section of the HEA; <strong>L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Andor<\/strong>, former Member of the European Commission; <strong>P\u00e9ter \u00c1kos Bod<\/strong>, University Professor, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Vice President of the HEA; <strong>Kriszti\u00e1n Kulcs\u00e1r<\/strong>, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and <strong>Zolt\u00e1n Magyar<\/strong>, two-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast, President of the Hungarian Gymnastics Federation.
