A book dedicated to Béla Csikós-Nagy, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and former President and Honorary President for Life of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA), was published by the Association. Titled The work of an outstanding economic reformer, 1938-1989, the publication was presented in the club of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences by colleagues, friends and followers of our former President.

Speeches were given in memory of Uncle Béla by Béla Kádár, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and HEA’s Honorary President for Life; university lecturer, President of the Fiscal Council and HEA’s Honorary President for Life Árpád Kovács; Péter Halmai, correspondent member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences; and Ferenc Vissi, former President of the Competition Office. The host of the event was Tamás Halm, HEA Presidium member and former Secretary General, who had edited the book.

Giving a short overview of Hungary’s history in the 20th century, Béla Kádár talked about Csikós-Nagy Béla’s career. Péter Halmai spoke highly of the economic and scientific work of our former President. Árpád Kovács focused on Csikós-Nagy’s organisation efforts at the helm of the Association, while Ferenc Vissi, a former subordinate, colleague and friend, shared personal stories.
