The Institute of Social Sciences and International Studies of the Faculty of Public Administration and Law of the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary is organising a conference on the international competitiveness of Hungarian businesses in cooperation with the Central Bank of Hungary and the Hungarian Economic Association. The event will start at 10 a.m. on Friday, 21 September 2018 in the conference hall of the shopping mall Lurdy Ház (1097 Budapest, Könyves Kálmán krt. 12-14).

The patron of the conference is Árpád Kovács, honorary president for life of the Hungarian Economic Association and chairman of the Fiscal Council. The presenters include Gyula Pleschinger, president of the Association and member of the Monetary Council; László Turóczy, deputy state secretary of the Finance Ministry responsible for competitiveness; Attila Chikán, member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and leader of HEA’s Economic Policy and Theory Unit; Magdolna Csath, lecturer at the National Public Service University; László Andor, former EU commissioner and faculty leader at BCE; László Parragh, chairman of the Hungarian Chamber of Industry and Trade; Zsolt Becsey, former member of the European Parliament and economic state secretary; and Péter Vakhal from KOPINT-Tárki.
