Renewal of Economics After the Crisis – Economic History Experiences in Economic Policy Decisions will be the subject of an English language conference jointly organized by the Hungarian Economic Association and the MNB Department of the Corvinus University of Budapest to be held on Friday, 26 April 2019 from 10 a.m. at the Hotel Sofitel Budapest (Budapest, Széchenyi István tér 2.).

Following the welcome speeches given by Gyula Pleschinger, President of the HEA and Kristóf Lehmann, Head of Department, the keynote presentation of the conference will be delivered by Claude Diebolt, President of the French Economic Association, Professor of the University of Strasbourg. After the keynote presentation a panel discussion will start at 10.45 a.m. on Using the Experiences of Economic History in Current Economic Policy Decisions. Participants of the panel discussion: Claude Diebolt, Professor of the University of Strasbourg; László György, Secretary of State for Economic Strategy and Regulation, Ministry of Innovation and Technology; and Ákos Dombi, Associate Professor, Head of Department of Comparative Economics, ELTE. Moderator:Tamás Halm, Editor-in-Chief of the Hungarian Economic Review, Board Member of the HEA.

Renewal of Economics After the Crisis – Economic Policy Approach will be the subject of the second panel session of the conference starting at 12.15 p.m. The participants of the discussion will include members of the MNB Department of the Corvinus University of Budapest: Balázs Vonnák, Senior Lecturer; Eszter Baranyai, Senior Lecturer; and Géza Sebestyén, Associate Professor. Moderator: Kristóf Lehmann, Head of MNB Department.

The language of the conference will be English, with no simultaneous interpretation provided.
