The Role of Blockchain and AI in Enabling Renewable Energy Financing and Trading. This is the title of the presentation to be given by Alastair Marke, Director-General of the UK-based Blockchain & Climate Institute at 14 p.m. on Monday, 26 March 2020 in HEA’s community room on the 1st floor of the Eiffel Palace Office (Budapest district 5, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky út 78). Moderator: Éva Pintér, habil. Associate Professor, President of the Fintech and Financial Culture Section of the Hungarian Economic Association.

Alastair Marke will discuss the role of blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies in accelerating future energy models, particularly through the facilitation of financing and trading. He will introduce the key features of blockchain technology and explain how these features could strengthen the design and transactions of the future energy grid.

Launched at COP23 in 2017 (Bonn, Germany), the Blockchain & Climate Institute is so far the world’s (UK’s) only think tank specialising in supporting governments to apply blockchain and emerging digital technologies (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things) in climate change policy implementation. Mr. Alastair Marke spoke for at the ASEAN Energy Summit and UN Asia-Pacific Climate Week with UK government support.
