Preparations for the 58th Itinerant Conference of Economics continued on Monday afternoon with the recording of the thematic section materials of the Fintech and Financial Culture Section. Considering the risks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hungarian Economic Association decided to hold its major domestic annual event online in 2020. The conference is due to start in a month, on 24 September 2020 with online presentations accessible to the audience free of charge.

In addition to the live-stream plenary presentations (speakers: György Matolcsy, Mihály Varga, László Domokos, Tamás Freund, Bertalan Farkas, Zsolt Hernádi, László Parragh…) and roundtable sessions (bank executives’ roundtable, forecasters’ forum…) the recording of the thematic section materials of the various sections is currently underway in the HEA Community Centre.

The roundtable discussion of the Fintech and Financial Culture Section of the HEA, Fintech Amidst the Digital Explosion seems highly promising. The session will be introduced by Anikó Szombati, Executive Director for Digitalisation and Fintech Development of the MNB, and moderated by Éva Pintér, Associate Professor, Strategic Manager of Corvinus Fintech Centre, President of the Fintech and Financial Culture Section. Participants: Endre Eölyüs, Director of Mastercard Hungary; Levente Kovács, Secretary General of the Hungarian Banking Association, Vice President of the Fintech and Financial Culture Section; Péter Magyar, CEO of Diákhitel Központ Zrt.; Zsolt Selmeczi-Kovács, CEO of GIRO Zrt., Board Member of the HEA, and Elemér Terták, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of K&H Bank, former Director of DG Internal Market and Services of the European Commission, Board Member of the HEA.
