Recovery from the COVID-19 Recession in Visegrad Countries. This will be the topic of the online roundtable discussion jointly organized by the Hungarian Economic Association (MKT) and the Institut Ekonomického Vzdělávání (INEV) on November 19th (Thursday), 2020, at 10:00AM. The discussion will be organized on the sidelines of the V4 International Final of the Economics Olympiad founded by INEV.

Participants of the discussion: Svatopluk Kapounek, President of the Czech Economic Society and Associate Professor of Mendel University in Brno; Martin Šuster, President of the Slovak Economic Associaton and Director of Research at the National Bank of Slovakia; Bogusław Fiedor, Vice President of the Polish Economic Society and Professor of Wroclaw University of Economics and Busi-ness; and Gyula Pleschinger, President of the Hungarian Economic Association and Member of the Monetary Council of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the Central Bank of Hungary. The discussion will be moderated by Mojmír Hampl, Board Member of INEV, former Deputy-Governor of the Czech National Bank.

Between the 18th and 20th of November 2020, five high school students from each of the Visegrad Countries will compete against each other in the International Final of the Economics Olympiad – a competition with a focus on economic and financial knowledge, founded by the Czech INEV. Because of the pandemic, INEV and the four economic associations/societies will organize this year’s Final online. The patron of the international final is Nobel laureate Thomas J. Sargent, William R. Berkley Professor of Economics and Business at the New York University. The Economics Olympiad is supported by the Visegrad Fund.
