The Cultural Economics Section of the HEA is organising a professional event with Music Hungary to discuss the situation of the cultural sector and the music industry, the COVID-19 induced difficulties, the government assistance provided so far, and the possible directions of restart and recovery including the 5% VAT rate for the cultural sector, taking place on Thursday, 13 May 2021, from 2 p.m. via Webex and HEA’s YouTube Channel.

The first speaker will be Dávid Szilágyi, Consultant of PricewaterhouseCoopers presenting a detailed analysis by PwC experts on the subject, followed by a roundtable session including Szilárd Demeter, Ministerial Commissioner for reforming Hungarian pop music; Zoltán Mádi, CFO of Vígszínház, Board Member of the HEA; Tamás Kádár, Manager of Sziget Kulturális Menedzser Iroda Zrt.; and Balázs Weyer, President of Music Hungary sharing their thoughts with the audience. The event will be moderated by József Birinyi, President of the Cultural Economics Section of the HEA.
