Thoughts on the dilemma of the timing of the introduction of the euro in Hungary – this is the title of the essay by Péter Gottfried, Member of the Monetary Council of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB), in the September 2021 issue of the Financial and Economic Review. In connection with the essay, the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) and the Financial and Economic Review will organize an online roundtable discussion on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 10 a.m. on the Webex and HEA’s YouTube channel.
The participants will be greeted by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, and a member of the Board of the Competitiveness Section of HEA. Participants of the panel discussion: Péter Gottfried, Member of the Monetary Council of the MNB, author of the essay; Elemér Terták, Member of the Board of HEA, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of K&H Bank Zrt.; Ádám Banai, Executive Director of the MNB and – as moderator – Gyula Pleschinger, Member of the MNB’s Monetary Council, President of the Hungarian Economic Association.
