Canadian-American labour economist David Card was among the recipients of the 2021 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. David Card, Professor of Economics at the

University of California received the prize for his empirical contributions to labour economics. The Labour Section of the Hungarian Economic Association is organising a forum in relation to the Nobel Prize to take place on Thursday, 9 December 2021, from 2 p.m. via Webex and HEA’s YouTube Channel.

Laudation will be delivered by György Boda, Emeritus Associate Professor of Corvinus University of Budapest, Managing Partner of Boda & Partners Kft., Board Member of the Labour Section of the HEA. Invited contributors: Attila Lindner, Associate Professor, University College London; Ferenc Rolek, Vice President, Confederation of Hungarian Employers and Industrialists; Álmos Telegdy, Associate Professor of Corvinus University of Budapest; and Dániel Horn, Director of the Institute of Economics, Eötvös Loránd Research Network Centre for Economic and Regional Studies. The participants will be welcomed by József Bagó, Senior Counsellor of the Ministry of Interior, President of the Labour Section of the HEA.
