Centripetal and centrifugal forces in the European Union is the title of a paper by György Szapáry, published in the Financial and Economic Review in December 2021. The issue will be discussed at a roundtable event organised by the Financial and Economic Review and the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA), to take place on Thursday, 27 January 2022, from 2 p.m. via Webex and HEA’s YouTube channel.

During the event György Szapáry, Chief Advisor to the Governor of the MNB, former Ambassador of Hungary to the US will present his findings and conclusions and participate in a roundtable discussion alongside János Martonyi, Professor Emeritus of Szeged University Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Balázs Orbán, Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary. The event will be moderated by Péter Gottfried, Member of the Monetary Council of MNB (National Bank of Hungary), former Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister, former President of the Office for European Affairs. The participants will be welcomed by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, Board Member of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA.
