Pandemic, excess mortality – this is the title of a professional event organised by the Demographic Section of the Hungarian Economic Association on Thursday, 24 February 2022, from 14:30 on Webex and on HEA’s YouTube channel.
The speaker of the event, Csaba G. Tóth, research fellow at the KRTK Institute of Economics, will answer questions such as: what might be the reasons for the discrepancy between excess mortality and the official statistics; what characterised the measured differences in the second and third waves; what this means in terms of regional distribution; or how mortality rates of men and women compare due to the pandemic. The event will be moderated by demographer Péter Pál Tóth.
