Growth or Development Trap – this is the title of the the essay of Magdolna Csath, professor, member of the Board of the Competitiveness and IT Divisions of the MKT, member of the National Competitiveness Council, published in the June 2022 issue of the Financial. In connection with the article, the Hungarian Economic Association and the Financial Review are organising a mini-conference – in hybrid form – on Thursday 14 July 2022, from 14:00 at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) conference centre at Krisztina körút 55, Budapest and on the HEA’s YouTube channel.
The event will be opened by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial Review, Member of the Board of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA, and Gyula Pleschinger, President of the HEA and Member of the Monetary Council, followed by a speech by Magdolna Csath. The introductory lecture will be followed by a panel discussion with Magdolna Csath, Gergely Baksay, Managing Director for Economic Analysis and Competitiveness of the MNB, Chairman of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA and Gergely Suppan, Senior Analyst at Takarékbank. The discussion will be moderated by Erzsébet Czakó, Professor of the Institute of Business Economics at the BCE, member of the HEA’s Industry and Entrepreneurship Section.
In view of the capacity of the room, personal participation is subject to prior registration.
