János Müller and Ádám Kerényi’s essay entitled The rise of digital central bank money appears in the September 2022 issue of the Financial and Economic Review. In connection with the article, the Hungarian Economic Association and the Financial and Economic Review will organise a panel discussion – in hybrid form – on Wednesday, 5 October 2022, from 9 am at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) conference centre at Krisztina körút 55, Budapest, and the event will be available live on the HEA’s YouTube channel.
The event will start with a short introductory presentation by János Müller and Ádám Kerényi. This will be followed by a panel discussion with the authors and Péter Csányi, Deputy CEO, Member of the Board and Head of the Digital Division of OTP Bank Plc; Anikó Szombati, Executive Director of the MNB responsible for digitalisation and fintech sector development; and Gábor Kürthy, Associate Professor at the Corvinus University of Budapest. The discussion will be moderated by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, and member of the Board of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA.
