The International Economic Association (IEA) and Universidad EAFIT Colombia announced the 20th World Congress of IEA to be held in Medellin, Colombia between 11 and 15 December 2023. The main theme of the Congress will be “World Economy at a Turning Point? Conflict, Fragmentation, and Divergence.” The congress is jointly organized by IEA and Universidad EAFIT, Colombia, with Universidad EAFIT being the local host.

The Congress will feature research presentations by leading economists from across the globe. More than 500 economists from all over the world are expected to attend and over 400 papers will be presented in stand-alone and parallel academic sessions.

There will also be a number of policy sessions and keynote lectures, with participants from governments and the corporate world. The 2023 IEA World Congress will be a unique academic event which, in addition to the daily keynote lectures, numerous policy sessions and the many invited sessions, will host the latest and most engaging research in Any Field in economics in the many contributed sessions.
