An essay on globalisation by Peter Halmai, a full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, professor at the BME and the NKE, and president of the Economic Policy and Economic Theory Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA), is published in the June 2023 issue of the Financial and Economic Review. In connection with the article, the Hungarian Economic Association and the Financial and Economic Review will organise a professional discussion – in hybrid form – on Wednesday, 5 July 2023, from 10 a.m. at the conference centre of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) at Krisztina körút 55, Budapest. The event will also be streamed live on the HEA’s YouTube channel.

The event will start with a welcome speech by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review and member of the Board of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA, followed by a short introductory presentation by the author, professor Péter Halmai. This will be followed by a discussion with István Benczes, Professor at the Corvinus University of Budapest and Zoltán Cséfalvay, Head of the Technology Futures Workshop at Mathias Corvinus Collegium. The discussion will be moderated by György Szapáry, Senior Advisor to the Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank.
