The European Union Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) will visit the European Institute of Technology and Innovation (EIT) in Budapest (Infopark, 1117 Budapest, Neumann János u. 1/E.) on Tuesday, 3 October 2023, at 10:00. The EIT was established in 2008 as an independent institution of the European Union with the aim of strengthening and developing Europe’s capacity for innovation. The EIT has become Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem through the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs).

During the visit, scheduled for 3 October, Martin Kern, Director of the EIT Institute, and senior EIT staff will provide information in English on the EIT’s mission, objectives, tools and activities to achieve these objectives, with a particular focus on the opportunities open to Hungarian universities, research centres, industry and start-ups. The panel discussion will be moderated by Zsolt Becsey, former MEP, Associate Professor at Károli Gáspár Reformed University, Vice President of the European Union Section of the HEA and Orsolya Szíjjártó, former Ambassador, partner of Inventio Consulting, members of the Section’s Board.

Following a discussion with EIT leaders, Ferenc Pongrácz, Regional Director of EIT Health InnoStars, President of the IT Section of the HEA and member of the National Board, will present the EIT Health Innostars, the EIT’s KIC for health innovation in 10 countries in the region.
