The 61st Itinerant Meeting of Economists in Eger was a success: during two plenary sessions and 16 sections, almost 700 experts listened to presentations and round-table discussions on the latest economic issues. Including the pre-recorded sessions, some 150 speakers shared their thoughts with the audience. There was also strong interest online: by Monday morning, more than 14,000 people had already watched the conference videos on the HEA’s YouTube channel and around 600 had listened to our podcasts of the panels.
There was considerable press interest in the on-site and pre-recorded thematic sessions of the conference, and this year there was also a lot of international press attention: the conference was even featured on the Nasdaq website…

In his closing remarks, HEA President Gyula Pleschinger announced that the Hungarian Economic Association will organise the 62nd Itinerant Congress of Economists on 5-6 September 2024 in Nyíregyháza.
