Our place in the European Union – the role of regionalism. This is the title of a professional round table discussion organised by the Hungarian Economic Association’s (HEA) Heves County Organisation, HEA’s Development Policy Section and the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University on Thursday, 23 November 2023, from 15:00 in Eger, in the library room A112 of the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (3300 Eger, Eszterházy tér 1.). The event is part of a year-long series of conferences in which HEA’s sections and county organisations will review the experiences and achievements of Hungary’s two decades of EU membership.

The panel discussion will feature Ádám Csepeti, Deputy State Secretary for Strategic Affairs Coordination of the Prime Minister’s Office; Zoltán Gál, Professor of the University of Pécs and former President of the Hungarian Regional Science Association; János Szlávik, Professor Emeritus of the Eszterházy Károly Catholic University (EKKE); and Csaba Ruszkai, Director General of the Research and Development Centre of EKKE. The discussion will be moderated by Tamás Halm, Editor-in-Chief of the Economic Review, former Secretary General of the HEA, former Deputy President of the National Development Office. The participants will be welcomed by Etele Baráth, former Minister for European Affairs, President of the Development Policy Section of the HEA, former member of the European Economic and Social Committee.
