20 years of Hungarian experience in the EU institutions. This is the title of a roundtable discussion organised by the European Union Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) on Thursday, 9 May 2024, from 2 pm at the Lotz Hall of the Budapest Business University(1055 Budapest, Markó u. 29-31.), in connection with the HEA’s series of events evaluating the results and experiences of our two decades of EU membership.

The participants of the discussion are all Hungarian experts who have held or still hold high positions in the various EU institutions – not least as officers of the Hungarian Economic Association. They are: László Andor, former EU Commissioner, Vice President of HEA; Zsolt Becsey, former MEP, Vice President of the European Union Section of HEA; Ildikó Pelczné Gáll, Hungarian Member of the European Court of Auditors, former Vice President of the European Parliament, Vice President of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Organisation of HEA and Elemér Terták, former Director for Financial Institutions of the European Commission’s DG for Internal Market, member of the HEA Board. The discussion will be moderated by Gábor Iván, Director of the Council of the European Union and President of the European Union Section of HEA. The participants will be welcomed by Gyula Pleschinger, President of HEA and member of the Monetary Council, who himself represented Hungary at several ECOFIN meetings as State Secretary for Tax and Finance at the Ministry of National Economy.
