Guns or Butter – fiscal and welfare effects of arms race in 2020s. This is the title of the 6th Budapest Seminar on Public Finance, organised by the Research Institute of Competitiveness and Economy of the National University of Public Service, in cooperatuion with the Public Finance and Finance Sections of the Hungarian Economic Association and the Ministry of Finance on Thursday, 16 May 2024, 9.30 a.m. – 9.30 a.m. – at the Chapel of St. László in the Ludovika Main Building of the National University of Public Service (1082 Budapest, Ludovika tér 2.).

Gábor Szőcs, Deputy State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, will give the introductory speech of the conference entitled The impact of the arms race on the Hungarian budget and welfare expenditure. Among the speakers will be researchers from Bedfordshire University, the University of Defence in Brno, the Polish Military University of Technology and the National University of Public Service.
