The Recent History of Hungarian Monetary Policy and Future Challenges for Central Banks. This is the title of the paper by András Balogh, Zsolt Kuti and Annamária Sipos-Madarász published in the June 2024 issue of Financial and Economic Review. In connection with the article, the Hungarian Economic Association and the Financial and Economic Review will organise a panel discussion – in hybrid form – on Monday, 15 July 2024, from 14:30 at the Supervisory Conference Room of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB), at Krisztina körút 6, Budapest. The event will be available live on the HEA’s YouTube channel.

The event will start with a welcome speech by Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB and Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, followed by a short introductory presentation on the study by one of the authors, András Balogh, Senior Economic Analyst at the MNB. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Zsolt Kuti, Managing Director of the MNB, Géza Sebestyén, Head of the Economic Policy Workshop of the MCC and Balázs Vonnák, Senior Education and Research Expert at the MNB and Associate Professor at the Neumann János University. The discussion will be moderated by Gergely Csiki, Director of Portfolio.hu.
