PurAccording to the Act XCIII of 2011, the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) may participate in the work of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC) with two representatives. For the 2024-2028 term, Gusztáv Báger, Professor, Senior Adviser to the Governor of the MNB, and Elemér Terták, Member of the Board of the HEA, former Secretary General of the HEA and former Director General for Financial Institutions of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, will represent the HEA in the NGTT.
The National Economic and Social Council (NESC) is a consultative, proposing and advisory body independent of the Parliament and the Government, established to discuss cross-cutting issues concerning the development of the economy and society, national strategies across governmental cycles, and to promote the development and implementation of harmonious and balanced economic development and social models. Based on Act XCIII of 2011, the Hungarian Economic Association – as the only named professional scientific association – delegates two members to the NGTT.
