The Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) and the Fiscal Council (FC) will hold their traditional joint autumn conference on Tuesday, 26 November 2024, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Lámfalussy Conference Centre of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank. The event will be streamed live on the HEA’s YouTube channel.
The conference will open with a panel discussion with Gábor Horváth, President of the Fiscal Council; Mojmír Hampl, President of the Czech Fiscal Council (Národní rozpočtová rada) and Daniel Dăianu, President of the Romanian Fiscal Council (Consiliul Fiscal România). The panel discussion will be moderated by Gyula Pleschinger, President of the HEA and member of the Monetary Council.
In the afternoon block of the conference – as is now a tradition – studies prepared for FC will be presented by the leaders, leading analysts and experts of the most renowned Hungarian research institutions, including Gyula Zoltán Pulay, Chief Economist of the State Audit Office of Hungary; Gergely Baksay, Executive Director of the MNB, responsible for economic and budgetary analysis and statistics, and President of the Competitiveness Section of HEA; Tamás Isépy, Director of the Hungarian Economic Research Institute Zrt.; Pál Belyó, Head of the Macroeconomics Division of ECO-VISTA Kft.; Éva Palócz, Managing Director of Kopint-Tárk Zrt. and Vice-President of the HEA; Ilona Cserháti, Associate Professor at the Research Centre “Smarter Work for a Better Life” of the Corvinus University of Budapest; Katalin Szilágyi, Chief Economist at Innovative Economic Solutions/OG Research; Magdolna Csath, Professor, Research Professor at the Budapest Metropolitan University, Vice President of the Innovation Section of the HEA; Dániel Molnár, Associate Professor at the Macronome Institute, Budapest; and Attila Udvardi, Director of GKI Gazdaságkutató Zrt. The afternoon session will be chaired by Gábor Horváth, President of the Fiscal Council.
