Higher Education Section – plans for 20025

The Hungarian Economic Association’s Higher and Continuing Education Section held its first meeting on 12 February 2025 in the HEA’s Community Room. The members of the recently formed Section’s Bureau agreed that the relationship between business education and the market is very close, as the economic environment is constantly changing and education has to keep pace with market needs. The effectiveness of training depends largely on its ability to adapt to market needs. Institutions that continuously update their curricula and work with companies can give their students a competitive edge in the labour market. It was also decided that the department would prepare a separate section for this year’s 63rd Economists’ Migration Assembly and hold its first hybrid event at the end of March.

Its President is Péter Szatmári, Vice-Rector of Milton Friedmann University, and its Secretary is Henrietta Nagy, Professor. Members of the Board are: Imre Bertalan, managing director of OTP Bank Nyrt. Birher Nándor Máté, University Professor; Káposzta József, University Professor; Kemény Gábor, University Associate Professor; Lehmann Kristóf, University Associate Professor; Pető Károly, University Professor; Rákossy Balázs, CEO of the Student Loan Centre; Sándorné Kriszt Éva, University Professor; Szeberényi András, University Associate Professor; Tóth Tamás, University Professor and Vastag Gyula, University Professor.
