For another three years, the Labour Section of the Hungarian Economic Association has elected József Bagó, editor of MunkaügyiSzemle.hu, as its president. During the online renewal of officers, which closed at noon on Thursday, February 5, the section’s board was expanded with new members in the persons of Ildikó Bihari, assistant professor at the University of Debrecen, and Emőke Török, head of department and associate professor at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church.
Members of the MKT Labour Section entitled to vote – that is, members without any membership fee arrears – had one week to decide on the section’s executive board via an online ballot. In addition to the president, the members also voted confidence for another term for the section’s secretary, Márta Józsa, head of the coordination group of the Director General’s Directorate of the National Chamber of Agriculture.
Furthermore, the voting members elected the section’s executive board for the next three years without any votes against and with one abstention. According to their decision, the following professionals became members of the executive board of the MKT Labour Section: Ildikó Bihari, assistant professor at the University of Debrecen; György Boda, emeritus associate professor at Corvinus University of Budapest and managing partner of Boda&Partners Ltd.; Márton Czirfusz, co-founder of the Periphery Public Policy and Research Center; László Herczog, former Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, staff member of Pénzügykutató Plc.; Györgyi Ignits, head of department at the Ministry for National Economy; Katalin Nagy, former counsellor of Hungary’s Permanent Representation to the EU and managing director of Socfactor Consulting Consulting Partnership; István Sum, honorary associate professor at Milton Friedman University; as well as Emőke Török, head of department and associate professor at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church.
