New Board Member of the Monetary Policy Section

The Board of the Monetary Policy Section of the Hungarian Economic Association has got a new member in the person of Piroska Nagy Mohácsi, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. In the elections concluded on Tuesday, the voting members unanimously re-elected Előd Takáts as Chair of the Section. He is Deputy Secretary General of the BIS Committee on the Global Financial System (CGFS), Professor and Rector Emeritus at Corvinus University of Budapest, and Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. By the same unanimous decision, Ádám Banai was also re-elected as Co-Chair of the Section; he is Executive Director and Chief Economist of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank.

By unanimous decision of the voting members, Benjámin Nagy, Chief Professional Secretary of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, will continue to serve as Secretary of the Section for another three years.

With no votes against and one abstention, the voting members elected the following experts as members of the Section’s Board: Zoltán Jakab, Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund; Piroska Nagy Mohácsi, Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics; Roland Straub, expert at the European Central Bank; and Judit Temesváry, Chief Economist at the Federal Reserve Board.
