Individual and Social Burdens of Rare Diseases

Under the title “Individual and Social Burdens of Rare Diseases in the Age of Innovation,” the Health and Health Economics Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) will organize a professional roundtable discussion on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM. The event will take place in the HEA community space (ELTE Faculty of Law, Building B, 1053 Budapest, Kecskeméti Street 10–12, 4th floor, room 403) and will also be streamed on the HEA YouTube channel.

Speakers at the event include László Gulácsi, university professor, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Vice-Rector for Research at Óbuda University; Márta Péntek, Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and university professor at the Health Economics Research Centre of Óbuda University; Áron Hölgyesi, senior research fellow at the research centre; and Gábor Pogány, President of the National Alliance of Rare Diseases.
