The Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) is launching a new international conference series under the name Budapest Financial Summit. The inaugural event of the series, entitled Central Banking in a Fragmented World, will be held on 16–17 September 2026 (Wednesday–Thursday) at the MNB’s Buda Centre (1013 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 55).
The conference will open with welcome addresses by Mihály Varga, Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, and Fatih Karahan, Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye. Speakers at the two-day professional programme will include Min Soo Kwon, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea; Binur Zhalenov, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Kazakhstan; Holly Fang, President of the Singapore FinTech Association; Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley; and Jacob A. Frenkel, former Governor of the Bank of Israel.
