Elite Education vs. Mass Education – Questions and Dilemmas in Hungarian Higher Education. Under this title, the Higher Education and Continuing Education Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) is organizing a professional event on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, starting at 10 a.m. in Meeting Room 510 of the Education Centre of the University of Public Service (1083 Budapest, Ludovika tér 1).
The opening presentation will be delivered by Attila Fiáth, Associate Professor at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. In addition to Attila Fiáth, the participants of the panel discussion will be Nimer Hannya, Chairman of the Board of GKI Economic Research Co., and Károly Pető, Professor at the University of Debrecen. The discussion will be moderated by Tamás Tóth, Professor at Milton Friedman University and a member of the Executive Board of the HEA Higher Education and Continuing Education Section. The participants will be welcomed by Péter Szatmári, Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Development at Milton Friedman University and President of the Section, and László Szegedi, Vice-Rector of the University of Public Service.
