Economic uncertainties

Economic Uncertainty – this is the title of a conference organised by the Institute of Economy and Competitiveness of the National University of Public Service and the Public Finance Section of the Hungarian Economic Association on Thursday, 10 November 2022, from 9:50 am at the Zrínyi Hall of the Ludovika Campus of the National University of Public Service (1083 Budapest, Ludovika tér 2., main building).

Speakers will address questions such as the likely medium-term impact of the risks of war and high inflation triggering a new crisis cycle, and what to do about energy shortages and escalating energy costs.

In the first panel of the conference, moderated by Gábor Kutasi (NKE), Péter Halmai (NKE/BMGE), Olivér Hortay (Századvég/BMGE) and László Szabó (BCE Energy Research) will share their thoughts on the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian war on energy prices.

The second panel discussion will focus on inflationary risks, with András Balatoni (Magyar Nemzeti Bank), István Ábel (BGE) and Gergely Suppan (Magyar Takarékszövetkezeti Bank). This discussion will be moderated by Vivien Czeczeli (NKE).
