Two Decades of Development Policy – this is the title of a professional roundtable discussion organised by the Development Policy Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) on Wednesday, 3 May 2023, from 10 am on Webex and on the MKT YouTube channel. The discussion is the first stage of a year-long series of conferences in the framework of which the Section will review the development policy, spatial development and territorial policy goals, achievements and challenges of our EU membership with key players of the past two decades of Hungary’s EU membership.

Participants in the discussion are: Gábor Mayer, State Secretary for Spatial Development; Géza Salamin, Associate Professor at the Department of Economic Geography and Urban Development, Corvinus University of Budapest, President of the Hungarian Urban Society; Péter Szaló, regional planner, former State Secretary, former President of the National Development Office; and Gábor Dányi, Ministerial Commissioner of the Ministry of Construction and Transport, responsible for the drafting of the Public Investment Framework Law and the operation of the investment controlling and accounting system, former Deputy State Secretary for EU Development Coordination; Éva Perger, former Director of the Institute of Regional Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (invited) and Zsuzsanna Kondor, Master lecturer of Public Finance, former Head of Department of the National Development Agency, former Head of the Managing Authorities of the Coordination and Implementation Operational Programmes (invited). The discussion will be moderated by Etele Baráth, former Minister for European Affairs and President of the Development Policy Section of the HEA.
