The Hungarian Economic Association, together with its organizing partners – the Czech INEV, the Corvinus University of Budapest, the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the Money Museum, the Pénziránytű Foundation – will organize the 2023-24 academic year of the Economics Olimpiad. The competition will be open to Hungarian students from secondary schools from all over the country, as well as from Transylvania, Vojvodina and Slovakia.

The competition will start with a written, online round between 19 and 23 February 2024, and in the second half of March 2024 the best students will compete in a two-round national final in Budapest. The best students from the national final are expected to compete in an international final in English in Greece in September 2024! The best students in the national and international finals will of course win valuable prizes. As a mark of the prestige of the event, the main patron of the 2020 international final was Nobel Prize-winning economist Tom Sargent, who sent a special video message to welcome the competitors.

Attention! In many Hungarian universities, a 1st to 3rd place in the international final of the Student Olympiad in Economics is worth extra points for admission!
