Changes in the Attitudes of Hungarian Shoppers in Times of Crisis. This is the title of a study by Mária Törőcsik, László Csóka, Péter Németh and Ágnes Neulinger, experts of the University of Pécs, published in the December 2023 issue of the Financial and Economic Review. In connection with the article, the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) and the Financial and Economic Review will organise a panel discussion – in hybrid form – on Wednesday, 24 January 2024, from 14:00 at the Supervisory Conference Room of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (Budapest, Krisztina körút 6). The event will also be streamed live on the HEA’s YouTube channel.

At the beginning of the event, Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, and member of the Board of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA will welcome the participants, followed by a short introductory presentation of the authors of the paper. This will ve followed by a panel discussion with the participation of Mária Törőcsik, Professor at the University of Pécs; Ildikó Balázs, Director of Corporate Relations at Auchan Magyarország Kft., Member of the Board of the HEA Trade Section; and Gabriella Soós, Adjunct Professor at ELTE, Research Fellow at BGE, Member of the Board of the HEA, Secretary of the Trade Section. The discussion will be moderated by Szabolcs Prónay, Associate Professor at the University of Szeged.
