20 years in the European Union – and the future… This is the title of the second closing conference of the Hungarian Economic Association’s conference series on the 20 years of Hungarian EU membership, jointly organised with the Representation of the European Commission in Hungary and Europa Pont, to be held on Monday, 29 April 2024, from 2 pm at the Europa Pont conference room (1024 Budapest, Lövőház u. 35.).
The speakers of the first block of the conference will be Oliver Röpke, President of the European Economic and Social Committee; Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development; and Árpád Kovács, Professor, former President of the State Audit Office and the Fiscal Council, Honorary Honorary President of the Hungarian Economic Association. Moderator: Gyula Pleschinger, member of the Monetary Council and President of the Hungarian Economic Association. The participants will be welcomed by the Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Hungary.
The participants of the round table discussion following the introductory presentations are Péter Szaló, regional planner, former State Secretary, former President of the National Development Office; Mária Csutora, professor at Corvinus University of Budapest, President of the Environmental Economics Section of the HEA and Péter Heil, expert of the European Parliament, Vice President of the Development Policy Section of the HEA. The discussion will be moderated by Etele Baráth, former Minister for European Affairs, member of the HEA’s Board and President of the Development Policy Section.
