20 years since we joined the European Union – How did it happen, what did we think? This is the title of a roundtable discussion organised by the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the Károli Gáspár Reformed University and the European Union Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) on Tuesday, 30 April 2024, from 3 pm at the Károlyi-Csekonics-Palota (1088 Budapest, Múzeum utca 17.), in the Ballroom of the Károlyi-Csekonics-Palota (1088 Budapest, Múzeum utca 17.).

Participants of the discussion are: Endre Juhász, former Minister for European Union Affairs, who was the Hungarian government’s chief negotiator and ambassador to the EU during the accession process; Péter Balázs, former EU Commissioner and Minister of Foreign Affairs, former Vice President of the HEA; and Tibor Palánkai, academic and one of the most prominent Hungarian economists in the field of European integration. The discussion will be moderated by Zsolt Becsey, Associate Professor at Károli Gáspár Reformed University, former MEP, former Deputy Head of the Hungarian EU Mission in Brussels and Vice President of the European Union Section of the HEA.
