The Hungarian team did very well in the international final of the International Economics Olympiad in Olympia, Greece, where Ágoston Dudás was among the top 10 out of more than 90 competitors from 19 countries. In the oral round, he had to speak to an international jury about monetary policy. With his result, he came 9th overall and won the gold medal.
Szabolcs Andrási and Ádám Páli were silver medallists, finishing in 11th-30th place. Bence Molnár won a bronze medal, which was awarded to the 31-50th place finishers, and Kristóf Kettős also performed well.
The prestige of the competition is reflected by the fact that 80,000 students from four continents took part in this year’s competition, with the first prize being awarded by Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of Economy and Finance of Greece. The 3rd place went to a Greek student, the 2nd to a Czech student and the 1st to a Polish student.
