Lost Illusions? Three Decades of Privatization

In its March issue, Rubicon history magazine looks back on three decades of privatisation after the change of regime. Several members of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) are among the authors of articles in the thematic issue. To mark the occasion, the HEA is organising a round table discussion entitled Lost illusions? Three Decades of Privatization on Wednesday, 9 April 2025, from 14:00 at the HEA Community Room (ELTE ÁJK Building B, 1053 Budapest, Kecskeméti u. 10-12, 4th floor 403) and on the HEA’s YouTube channel.

Participants of the roundtable discussion are the authors of the thematic issue, Péter Ákos Bod, professor, former Governor of the Central Bank, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Antall government, Vice President of the HEA; Magdolna Csath, professor, Vice President of the Innovation Section of the HEA; Zoltán Farkas, Editor of HVG; Károly Lóránt, Associate Professor at BME (invited) and Péter Mihályi, Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor at Corvinus University of Budapest, Visiting Professor at the Central European University (CEU).
