Innovation-driven economic growth – How Hungary will become the home of innovative entrepreneurs and companies. This was the title of a study by László Bódis, Deputy State Secretary for Innovation of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, CEO of the National Innovation Agency and Ádám Kiss, President of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office, published in the March 2025 issue of the Financial and Economic Review. In connection with this paper, the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) and the Financial and Economic Review are organising a panel discussion in a hybrid format on Wednesday 16 April 2025 at 14:00 at the Lámfalussy Conference Centre of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, Krisztina körút 55, Budapest. The event will be streamed live on the HEA’s YouTube channel.
At the beginning of the event, Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review and member of the Hea’s Competitiveness Section will welcome the audience. After the welcome speech, László Bódis will briefly present the main conclusions of the study. The authors, László Bódis and Ádám Kiss, and Zsolt Szalay, Associate Professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Gergely Baksay, Managing Director of the MNB and Chairman of the Competitiveness Section of the HEA will participate in the panel discussion following the introductory presentations. The event will be moderated by Péter Fáykiss, Head of Department at Budapest Metropolitan University and Director of International Business Development at HOLD Fund Management.
