The latest trends in the application of artificial intelligence in the banking sector was published by Gergely Lülök, a PhD student at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) and Zoltán Sebestyén, associate professor at BME, as well as Alexandra Prisznyák, AI risk management expert and consultant, in an essay entitled Robo Sapiens Bankerius: An ideally designed humanoid banking service robot? in the June 2025 issue of the Financial and Economic Review. In connection with these articles, the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) and the Financial and Economic Review are organizing a hybrid panel discussion on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Lámfalussy Conference Center of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) (1013 Budapest, Krisztina körút 55.) and on the HEA’s YouTube channel.
At the beginning of the event, Barnabás Virág, Deputy Governor of the MNB, Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Financial and Economic Review, and member of the Board of the HEA’s Competitiveness Section, will welcome the participants. This will be followed by a brief presentation of the most important conclusions of their paper by the authors. The participants in the panel discussion following the introductory presentations will be Gergely Lülök, Alexandra Prisznyák, Éva Hegedüs, President and CEO of Gránit Bank and Secretary General of the HEA, and Antal Kuthy, Founder & CEO of E-Group and member of the HEA’s IT Section. The panel discussion will be moderated by Péter Fáykiss, Head of Department at Budapest Metropolitan University and Director of International Business Development at HOLD Fund Management.
