The Hungarian Economic Association (MKT) and the Fiscal Council (KT) will once again hold their traditional joint autumn conference on Monday, October 27, 2025, from 9:30 AM CET at the Lámfalussy Conference Center of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, located at 55 Krisztina Boulevard, Budapest. The event will be broadcast live on the MKT YouTube channel.
At the beginning of the conference, Gábor Horváth, President of the Fiscal Council; Mojmír Hampl, President of the Czech Fiscal Council (Národní rozpočtová rada); Daniel Dăianu, President of the Romanian Fiscal Council (Consiliul Fiscal România); and Ján Tóth, President of the Slovak Fiscal Council (Rady pre rozpočtovú zodpovednosť), will share their insights with the audience. The panel discussion with the four fiscal council presidents will be moderated by Gyula Pleschinger, President of the Hungarian Economic Association. Following the panel discussion, Péter Ákos Bod, Emeritus Professor at Corvinus University of Budapest, former Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, and Vice President of the Hungarian Economic Association, will present the study of the Smarter Work for a Better Life Research Center at Corvinus University of Budapest. The roundtable of the fiscal council presidents will be conducted in English, with simultaneous interpretation provided at the venue.
In the afternoon session of the conference – as is now tradition – the heads, lead analysts, and experts of the most renowned Hungarian research institutes will present the studies prepared for the Fiscal Council, including (as planned): Gyula Zoltán Pulay, Chief Economist of the State Audit Office; Gergely Baksay, Executive Director of the MNB and President of the MKT’s Competitiveness Section; Tamás Isépy, Head of the Macroeconomic Division at Századvég Economic Research Co.; Pál Belyó, Managing Director of ECO-VISTA Ltd.; Éva Palócz, CEO of Kopint-Tárki Co. and Vice President of the MKT; László Molnár, Lead Researcher at GKI Economic Research Co.; Katalin Szilágyi, Division Head at Innovative Economic Solutions / OG Research; Magdolna Csath, University Professor and Vice President of the MKT’s Innovation Section; Dániel Molnár, Lead Analyst at the Economic Analysis Center of MGFÜ; and Péter Halmai, academic and President of the MKT’s Economic Policy and Theory Section.
The chair of the afternoon session will be Gábor Horváth, President of the Fiscal Council.
