Wage Transparency in the EU — under this title, the Labour Section of the HEA and the journal Közgazdasági Szemle are organizing an online professional conference on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM, streamed via Webex and the HEA’s YouTube channel. The discussion will be based on the study by István Boza and Virág Ilyés, published in the April 2026 issue of Közgazdasági Szemle, titled The EU Wage Transparency Directive – Challenges and Dilemmas.
The speakers at the event will be the authors: István Boza, research fellow at the Institute of Economics, ELTE KRTK, and Virág Ilyés, research fellow at the Institute of Economics, ELTE KRTK, and at the Network Science Department of the Institute of Data Analytics and Informatics at Corvinus University of Budapest (ANETI Lab, CIAS). Invited discussants: Melinda Mészáros, President of LIGA Trade Unions, and Ákos Kalmár, Vice President of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers. Moderator: Katalin Nagy, former advisor to the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU and member of the executive board of the HEA Labour Section. Participants will be welcomed by Tamás Halm, Editor-in-Chief of Közgazdasági Szemle.
