Wage Transparency in the European Union — under this title, the Labour Affairs Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA), together with the journal Közgazdasági Szemle (Economic Review), organised an online professional conference on 27 May 2026. The event was based on the study by István Boza and Virág Ilyés entitled “The EU Pay Transparency Directive – Challenges and Dilemmas”, published in the April 2026 issue of Közgazdasági Szemle.
The professional discussion was opened with a welcome address by Tamás Halm, Editor-in-Chief of the journal, followed by an introductory presentation by Katalin Nagy, member of the board of the Labour Affairs Section. The plenary presentation was delivered by István Boza, research fellow at the Institute of Economics of the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies (ELTE KRTK). The invited contributors were Melinda Mészáros, President of the LIGA Trade Unions, and Ákos Kalmár, board member of the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (MGYOSZ).
