András Balatoni, a board member of the Economic Policy and Economic Theory Section of the Hungarian Economic Association (HEA) and Director responsible for economic forecasts and analyses at the Magyar Nemzeti Bank, the central bank of Hungary, was awarded the Béla Krekó Award of the Economic Modelling Society in 2026.
The award is presented each year in recognition of outstanding research achievements in the field of economic modelling. In recent years, the prestigious honour has been received, among others, by such renowned economists as Mária Augusztinovics, Attila Chikán, Tamás Mellár, and András Simonovits.
